DevOps Engineer (Junior–Mid)

Spotwise is one of Latvia’s fastest-growing adtech startups, backed by 500 Global, empowering broadcasters with real-time market insights and sales automations. We’re growing our core team and looking for an automation-focused DevOps Engineer to help us maintain and scale our real-time monitoring infrastructure—working closely with the founders and engineering team to ensure 24/7 data integrity.

What you'll be doing

Own Real-Time Infrastructure: Maintain and refine our core monitoring fleet. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring our high-availability data-ingestion systems stay online and performant.

AI-Assisted Engineering: Fully utilize AI coding agents (Claude, Cursor, Codex, etc.) as a force multiplier. You remain in control of the architecture and logic while using these tools to ship faster and more accurately.

Infrastructure Evolution: Evaluate our current deployment methods and implement improvements to increase reliability and cost-efficiency as we scale.

Build Automation Pipelines: Transition infrastructure tasks into robust CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps). If it’s done twice, it should be scripted.

Cloud Operations: Work within a fully Azure-native stack, optimizing for observability, security, and proactive alerting.

What we're looking for

Hands-on Experience: At least 1 year of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar infrastructure-focused roles.

Modern Workflow: You advocate for AI-assisted engineering. You understand how to leverage LLMs to bypass boilerplate and focus on high-level problem solving.

The "Automation" Mindset: Excellent understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation workflow design. You prioritize building self-healing systems over manual intervention.

Containerization & Orchestration: Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS). You understand how to scale containerized workloads effectively.

Azure Ecosystem: Practical experience with Azure and its core services (Compute/VMs, Managed Databases, AKS, Blob Storage).

Systems & Networking: Excellent understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking basics.

Coding & Version Control: Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, with a solid grasp of Git and version control principles.

Problem Solving: Strong debugging skills and a collaborative mindset. You take pride in "owning" a system and ensuring it is robust and scalable.

Communication: Fluent in English and Latvian.
